Q&A SAN DIEGO LIMO RENTAL | PARTY BUS RENTAL SAN DIEGO
What is your budget?
You budget is the most important part of picking a limo or party bus that's right for you. Telling our Customer Care Representative what your budget is can speed along the process and put you into the vehicle you can afford and not the vehicle you can't afford.
What are the steps to renting a limo or party bus?
- 1st: pick your vehicle so it suits your intention.
- 2nd: go to any page on our site and click on the "Get a Quote" button at the top of the page.
- 3rd: whatever has an asterick must be filled in with an answer.
- 4th: fill in if you want hourly transportation or a transfer.
How many people will be along for the ride?
Have a good estimate of how many people are going to show up. You are always better going bigger if you are interested in hourly charters. If you are doing a quick transfer it's more tolerable if you you over invited. Also, remember the size of the buses fluctuate depending on the purpose of the trip. If we are going on a 2 hour trip to Los Angeles and you had 40 people I would recommend a much larger vehicle. Like a 50 passenger bus with a bathroom. If you had 20 people going downtown to be dropped off at a club I might suggest an 18 passenger party bus to keep your costs down since your stay on the bus is going to minimal. For weddings I would only recommend a stretch 10 passenger limo for the bride and groom and a larger party bus for the entire wedding party if you are keeping costs to a minimum.
What amenities are essential for you and your guests?
If you are going on long trips and stopping is out of the question I would highly suggest a restroom. Any charter longer than an hour should definitely have a restroom. Also, a nice cooler will always come in handy. Ask how big your vehicles cooler is and if you will need to bring ice. When buying ice make sure you have at least one bag just so you have hands free ice for your personal drinks and one bag for cooling your beverages. Dancing Poles? Some buses have removable pools. I personally suggest to keep all poles in all the time because it's a greater safety risk by removing them. I know parents this sounds counter productive but I've seen the poles come in handy when coming to a sudden stop or excellerating. They are the best safety handles on the bus.
Where should your pick-up location be? If you are drinking pick a 24hr. restaurant
I always recommend being picked up and dropped off at a restaurant if you are going on a wine tour or brewery tour. This way if one person in your party had a little too much you are better off having a bite to eat after a long day of sun , wine, beer, or mixed drinks. Please don't risk your life or safety by driving intoxicated.
Should I get a bus with a restroom?
Having a restroom really makes long journeys bareable. It's a definite party pooper by not having one on your vehicle. It's also embarrassing for guests to ask a driver to pull over 40 people on the side of a road so you can take care of nature.
Does the vehicle come with a bar?
All of our limos come with a bar. The better question is how big is our bar. None of our vehicles come stocked. This is a definitely benefit for you. I've worked for many companies that would say they are throwing in an expensive bottle of vodka and be filling it up with the cheapest of the vodka's not suitable for human consumption. Always bring your own alcohol and try and stay with the more expensive brands, that is if you know what's best for you. As a rule of thumb we don't allow jello shots on the vehicles. People have a tendency of not throwing them away and they make a horrible mess. Also, shots of any alcohol is not encouraged for that's how problems usually start. Drug and Alcohol related problems will be dealt with immediately. Sickly Intoxicated people are a burdon for all and usually end up causing problems for everyone. If you are sick , you will be asked to leave.
Do I need a party bus or something more luxurious and corporate?
That depends on the purpose of your party. If you are having a black tie affair, smaller eisle ways and groups usually would go with a stretched limo. If dancing is a prime concern or mingling, I would highly recommend one of our many buses.
Does the bus have A/C? Many smaller companies lack simple amenities!
Many older buses will not have A/C. Many companies will tell you they have A/C but when your vehicle gets there guess what......no A/C and the windows open. Make sure you stipulate in the contract the penalties for lack of amenities. Don't get bamboozled by shady companies!
What is their policy on party transfers? (don't pay for the driver to be on call)
Party transfers are a hot idea that allows you to get picked up and dropped off at a destination of your choice without having to pay the driver for time not in the vehicle. The bad side to this is you have very strict time lines you must adhere to. The value in this is you pay less and the company can find jobs in between your event. The down side is the driver will have other jobs he needs to be on and time is very valuable. If your friends are late you will pay handsomely. Anywhere from $5 to $10 a minute. Make sure you know the penalties up front. You may have a driver who can't wait no matter what and you will be forced to pay for the bus with nobody there. Ask ahead!
Does your vehicle have seperate Video and Music Players?
Many vehicles will not have seperate video and music players. This in itself becomes a problem when clients want to show a video that has no soundtrack and they were hoping to play a CD or Ipod at the same time.
What if I'm over the number of passengers I requested?
We usually quote prices on many variables. If you say you have 15 people attending and 20 people are there when we pick you up we may charge you an additional fee for the extra passengers. Keep in mind the more people you have the greater the risk our company takes on.
What are some cost saving tips for renting a limo?
Pick times off peak hours. 10:30pm to 1:30am on the weekends are a great time between nightclub transfers. Also 6:30pm to 9:00pm is also advisable. If you want a good transfer rate try booking late night after hours transfers to SPIN NIGHTCLUB. They are usually open til 4:00am on Friday and Saturdays. Our special is $100 to $200 off any transfers combined between 11pm - 1am and after 3am . 2nd idea, try a pickup location close to a major freeway. 3rd idea, the more people the cost per person goes down. 4th, book multiple dates. 5th, be nice to our reservationist. 5th, pay your trip all up front in cash before the date. 6th, promise to pick up the vehicle after use.
Can you get me into a nightclub?
We can set it up for you and your party to get in to any nightclubs! Unfortunately, the security at the door has the final call if you are worthy or not. Which ones will turn you away if you aren't a women and don't score between a 8 and 10 on hotness.....Fluxx and 6ix. Stingaree will comp ladies but charge guys half off admission. Ivy is a bit more relaxed that is if you are going to stay destairs in the hip hop room. Also, if you show up obviously intoxicated they will turn away the whole party. (It's hard to sell Alcohol to people who've obviously had too much to drink already.
What if your vehicle breaks down?
If our vehicles break down it was an act of God and you weren't supposed to go anyway. Seriously, we will make every attempt to remedy the situation. It happens once a year and unfortunately nobody is ever happy. We will try and fix the problem but if the problem is not fixable we work with numerous other companies who will take over the job. In compensation we will give you 30% off your next trip with us or better.
What's the difference between a TRANSFER and a CHARTER?
Transfers are from point A to point B. The benefit is if you've scheduled a layover you don't have to pay us if the bus is without customers or waiting for the scheduled pick up time. We give you these rates in the idea of us booking another job in between. So it is essential you keep with the schedule. We on the other hand can be a little flexible on our pick ups of you and your guests. Any delays on your behalf you may be charged anywhere from $5 to $10 per minute depending on how busy the night is. Please confirm the day prior. Also, with transfers you may not have the same vehicle to pick you up. Call and ask us if you will be permitted to store anything on the bus when you are not on the bus. Clothes and alcohol are always popular. Also, transfers and not permitted if you are going out of town. It makes it really difficult for us to try and rent out our vehicle while you and your family are at Disneyland so you will have to pay hourly for your entire stay. The only time we will make an exception is if the driver is interested on going on the trip as well. I give great deals on Vegas trips just because I like Vegas personally. Unfortunately, we aren't permitted by law to drive you around Vegas while you are there. Sorry!
Charters/Tours are hourly service that the vehicle is all yours for the allotted time frame. This by far is much safer and contributes to the least amount of headache for you and your guests.
If you say a bus holds 50 people what does that mean?
The maximum number of people a bus can hold comfortably is different from the vehicles max capacity. Most transfers I will give the max capacity of a vehicle. For longer trips or for larger passengers I would recommend 40 people max on a 50 passenger bus. Everything is up to the discretion of the driver. I've had 10 passenger stretched limo that could only hold 5 Samoans. Big guys!
What can I bring in the limo?
We suggest you bring ice, cups, or whatever you plan to eat. Please stay away from spicey foods, bbq, or other foods with powerful odors. Liquor is fine to bring (jello shots are a mess to clean up so you may have to pay additional charges. Silly String is definitely not allowed on bus. Also, if the food you bring is messy you may be charged a clean up fee of $5 t0 infinity depending on the length of time it takes to clean up after you or if there is destruction or lost wages. Keep in mind to not bring enough liquor for an army. Severely intoxicated people are not permitted on bus. They are a liability and deter from the overall experience. Our rule is if you can't walk normally on or off of the bus on you can't be on the bus! Also, people becoming ill on the bus may be forced to pay for clean up or lost wages if we have additional runs that night.
What are your business hours?
We are typically answering the phones Noon to Midnight everynight of the week. If you have an afterhours party we require payment in full with a credit card. You must have a phone that is able to take pictures and you must take a picture of the credit card and your drivers license.
What if I call early in the morning when your sleeping?
We will do our best to answer all your questions but expect long delays in between words. Keep in mind we try to keep costs low and hiring a receptionist between the hours of 8am and 11am may be a bit difficult. We will call you back immediately after 11am when we get into the office or open our eyes. Whichever happens first.
Decorations for party?
We love parties! But, we don't love cleaning up after them, specifically the banners or tape that was used to support them. If we have additional jobs after you may not be allowed to tape anything down that may prevent us from getting to where we need to be. Also, silly string or liquid streamer type of stuff. Just don't make a mess for us and we won't have to charge you.
